Philips Hue app lets you control your lights from just about anywhere. The app lets you group Hue bulbs to control an entire room. For more control, the Hue app can control each light individually to create a more perfect ambiance. Want the perfect ambiance without having to worry about picking from over 50,000 colors? The hue app makes it easy by suggesting preset ambiance options such as “Tropical Twilight” or “Savanna Sunset” to get the mood set quickly.


Need to add a light switch but don’t want to pay for a contractor? Use the Hue dimmer switch as a remote control, or attach it to a wall with the included screws or adhesive for DIY switch made easy.

Use IFTTT to connect your lights to your smart home


What is IFTTT? It stands for “If this then that” and is a free automation app. It basically does just like the name says; do something if something else happens. Some examples might be “Turn on Philips Hue lights at Sunset” or “When Amazon Echo/Alexa timer hits 0, blink hue lights.” IFTTT has a huge library of community designed “recipes” or you can design your own recipe.
